Water damage is the 2nd most filed insurance claim in the US. Water damage can occur during any time of year whether it is due to a summer hurricane, a burst pipe in the winter or a backed up toilet.  SERVPRO of Farmingdale/Massapequa is here 365 days a year to help you with any water loss or flood.  Here are some do's and don'ts to help you during this time.

Don't:

  • Do not use your household vacuum to try and remove water
  • Do not turn on ceiling fixtures if ceiling is wet.
  • Do not leave wet fabrics up.  Hang furs and leather goods.

Do:

  • Turn air conditioner on for maximum drying during the summer time. 
  • Remove colored rugs from wet carpeting.
  • Remove art objects to a safe, dry place.
