Flood Safety Do's and Don'ts

Water damage is the 2nd most filed insurance claim in the US. Water damage can occur during any time of year whether it is due to a summer hurricane, a burst pipe in the winter or a backed up toilet. Don't:
- Do not use your household vacuum to try and remove water
- Do not turn on ceiling fixtures if ceiling is wet.
- Do not leave wet fabrics up. Hang furs and leather goods.
Do:
- Turn air conditioner on for maximum drying during the summer time.
- Remove colored rugs from wet carpeting.
- Remove art objects to a safe, dry place.
