Basement Mold

SERVPRO of Farmingdale/Massapequa was called into mitigate water damage at a home in Freeport, New York. The main floor bathroom sink leaked into the finished basement. When we arrived we found the basement ceiling to be wet. When we attempted to remove the drywall we found what appeared to be mold growth on the floor joist system. At this point we immediately stopped demolition and contacted the insurance adjuster. We stopped demolition to avoid any possible cross contamination. This water damage job was about to become a mold remediation job. A third party assessment company was called in to test and establish a protocol. The mold was removed without a problem.
