Oil Burner Fire in cluttered home

This oil burner puffback in Massapequa, N.Y. caused soot damage throughout the entire home. Due to the amount of oil based soot this puffback cleaning was a challenge in its self. To make matters even worse this house was very cluttered with contents and debris. Prior to any cleaning the contents had to be separated  salvageable from non salvageable. Then the non salvageable had to be inventoried and disposed of in an on site dumpster. This initial process took 7 days with a 6 man crew. Then it was time to start the actual soot cleaning. All walls ceilings and floor coverings were thoroughly cleaned as well as windows and light fixtures. All cabinets were emptied and cleaned as were the closets. All contents were cleaned and packed in boxes to allow for the painting crew to paint the walls and ceilings. This was a time consuming job and SERVPRO of Farmingdale/Massapequa was up for the task.
