Flooded store in Farmingdale, N.Y.
SERVPRO of Farmingdale/Massapequa was called into a 10,000 square foot retail store. The building was flooded due to torrential rains on Long Island. Initially all of the merchandize had to be moved out of the deeper flooded areas of the store. Once the merchandize was out of harms way extraction began. The water from the main floor took about 6 hours to mitigate. Once the water was extracted all of the wet surfaces were sanitized since the water came in from the parking lot. Drying equipment was validated and setup. The store owner was able to open his doors the very next business day.
