Fire/Water/Oil cleanup in Long Island, N.Y.

This oil spill was the result of an oil burner fire from inside the chamber. The oil feed line split from excessive heat causing the oil tank to spill oil throughout the basement. The 2500 square foot basement sustained water, oil, and smoke damage. This would prove to be a challenging mitigation project. SERVPRO of Farmingdale/Massapequa was up for the task. We handled both the mitigation and restoration projects. SERVPRO notified the Department of environmental conservation and all the proper protocol was followed. The biggest issue during this loss was the heavy oil odor that permeated the entire 3 levels of the home. We utilized all of the proper cleaning products and deodorization equipment. The entire project ran 4 weeks to complete. In the end the home was brought back to its pre loss condition.
